Justin Timberlake is an American singer, songwriter, actor and businessman. Born in Jan. 31, 1981, Justin appeared on the television series, The New Mickey Mouse Club and Star Search and during 1993 to 1994, at the age of 11, alongside pop superstar Britney Spears, N Sync band member JC Chasez, singer Christina Aguilera, and movie actor Ryan Gosling.
Justin rose to fame in 1995, when he was recruited the lead singer of the boy band N Sync, organized by Lou Pearlman, who was also the band’s manager. In 1998, the group rose to fame in the United States with the release of their first album, *NSYNC. The record sold 11 million copies, which included their hit single, “Tearin’ Up My Heart”. In 2000, N Sync released their second album, No Strings Attached, which sold 2.4 million albums in its first week of release and spawned their #1 hit, “It’s Gonna Be Me”. In 2001, the band released their third album, Celebrity, which was also well-received. After performing their Celebrity Tour, the band went into hiatus the following year.
By that time, N Sync was an international success and performed at the Olympics, The Academy Awards and the Super Bowl. With more than 5o million copied sold internationally, N Sync became the third best-selling boy band in music history.
During N Sync’s break from music, Justin released his first solo studio record Justified in 2002, which spawned hits such as, “Cry Me a River” and “Rock Your Body”. In 2006, he released his second solo album, FutureSex/LoveSounds. The album reached No.1 spot on the U.S. Billboard 200 and spawned Billboard Hot 100 #1 hit singles like, “SexyBack”, “What Goes Around/Comes Around”, and “My Love”. The album sold more than seven million copies globally, and established Justin as one of the highly successful singers commercially.
From 2007 to 2012, Justin decided to focus on his acting career, eventually putting his music career on hold. He was casted in leading roles in the films, The Social Network (2010), Bad Teacher (2011), In Time (2011) and Friends with Benefits (2011).
In 2013, Justin resumed his music career with the release of his third and fourth albums, The 20/20 Experience and The 20/20 Experience: 2 of 2, respectively. His third album, The 20/20 Experience became one of best-selling records of the year, and spawned hit singles, “Mirrors” and “Suit & Tie”. The former is preceded by the main single, “Take Back the Night”.
Justin’s work has earned him 6 Grammy Awards and 4 Emmy Awards. Teen People and Cosmopolitan magazine has included Justin one of the Sexiest Man Alive lists. In February 2009, he was named by GQ magazine as “Most Stylish Man in America”. In 2011, AskMen ranked Justin #46 on their annual 49 Most Influential Men.
Besides his music and acting career, Justin’s other ventures includes recording label Tennman Records, restaurants Southern Hospitality and Destino, and fashion label William Rast.
