miley cyrusMiley Ray Cyrus is an American singer and actress. Born on November 23, 1992, her father is country music singer Billy Ray Cyrus and mother Tish Cyrus. Before featuring in a small role in the 2003 film, Big Fish, Miley made her debut in three episodes of the Doc show.

With the successful Hannah Montana franchise, a former Disney Channel sitcom, where she played the roles of Miley Stewart and Hannah Montana, she made her mark as a teen idol in 2006.

Later, Miley recorded many songs for the soundtrack of the series first season. She then inked a deal with Hollywood Records and launched the joint record, “Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus”. With hits like “See You Again”, the album sold over 3 million copies in the US, which served both as a soundtrack and Miley’s debut album.

Miley embarked on the Best of Both Worlds Tour, to promote her album, which was later turned into the Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert film in 2008. The same year Miley launched her first solo album, Breakout. The album was listed at the top of the Billboard 200 chart and was eventually certified Platinum by the RIAA. Breakout included hits like, “Fly in the Wall”, and “7 Things”.

In 2008, Miley launched her film career by giving her voice to “Penny” in the animated movie, Bolt and was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for the Best Original Song for performing the movie’s theme song, “I Thought I Lost You”. In 2009, she played in the feature film, Hannah Montana: The Movie. The film featured the hit song, “The Climb”, which later became one of Miley’s most successful hit singles until now.

Later, Miley began to project an adult image and came up with more mainstream pop music with the successful single, “Party in the U.S.A”. The single became Miley’s top peaking single on the Billboard Hot 100 list to date. She extended her mature image further with the release of the movie, The Last Song, and the her third solo album ,”Can’t Be Tamed”, which featured more dance elements and sexual theme than her previous albums.

After releasing her third album, Miley decided to focus on her movie career and starred in the drama LOL, alongside Demi Moore, where she played as a rebellious teenage hooked on drugs and drinking. The movie was a limited release and didn’t make it to the budget. However, she later featured in the So Undercover with Kelly Osbourne. Miley’s fourth studio album is expected to be released in 2013 by RCA Records following the release of her latest single, “We Can’t Stop” in June 3, 2013.

Since her debut, Miley turned out to become of the most successful stars from Disney. She was ranked 13th on Forbes Celebrity 100 in 2010 and was also named “Most Charted Teenager” by Guinness World Records in 2011 with a total of six Top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 list. Miley also earned five RIAA certified albums within the age of 18.
